Privacy Policy

Overview

Clover ("we", "our", or "the app") is an imageboard viewer for iOS. This policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.

The short version: we collect almost nothing. Your bookmarks and settings live on your device, we don't track your browsing, and we don't sell or share your information with anyone.

Information We Collect

Browsing activity

Clover does not log, store, or transmit a record of which boards or threads you view. The app makes network requests directly to the imageboard's public API on your behalf, but these requests are not routed through our servers and we have no visibility into them.

Bookmarks, filters, and settings

All data you create within the app — bookmarks, post filters, watched threads, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage frameworks. This data is never sent to us.

Push notifications

If you enable notifications for watched threads, your device's push token is used by Apple's Push Notification Service (APNs) to deliver notifications. We do not store your push token on any server we operate. Notification delivery is handled entirely through Apple's infrastructure.

Crash reports

If you have enabled "Share Analytics with App Developers" in your iOS settings, Apple may send us anonymised crash logs when the app crashes. These contain technical stack traces and device information, but do not include any personal data or records of your browsing activity.

Purchases

Any in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was completed.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information.
• We do not track which boards, threads, or posts you view.
• We do not use advertising networks or third-party analytics SDKs.
• We do not access your contacts, location, or other personal data.
• We do not build user profiles or sell data to any third party.

Third-Party Services

Clover fetches content from imageboard APIs (such as the 4chan API) directly on your device. These requests are subject to the privacy policies of those respective services, not ours. We have no control over and no visibility into the data those services may collect about API requests made from your device.

The only other third-party platform involved is Apple (for the App Store, in-app purchases, crash reporting, and push notifications), which is governed by Apple's own privacy policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

All app data — bookmarks, filters, watched threads — exists solely on your device. You can clear this data at any time by deleting the Clover app, or by using the "Clear All Data" option in the app's settings.

Children's Privacy

Clover is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. As Clover does not require an account or collect personal information from any user, there is no specific mechanism by which children's data would be collected.

Please note that some imageboards contain content not suitable for minors. Parental guidance is advised.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you through the app or via App Store update notes where appropriate.
